My cousin takes his education tooo extremely. Thats a different story.
He is taking college courses ever since he started high school. Up to right no he is a sophmore and has 16 credits so far. (I dont understand "credits" explain if u can XD ).
What are the advantages?
Should I do this too?
What are credits?
Taking college credit courses while in high school will help you cut back on the number of classes or credit hours needed to graduate. Each college class is assigned a certain number of credit hours i.e- english composition is 3 credit hours. Once you get into college there are a number of credit hours that need to be met in certain subjects in order for you to graduate with a certain degree. Most of the credits or college classes you will take in high school are lower level credits or base classes like english, spanish or foreign languages. Some high schools let you take upper level math for high school like AP calculus. Once you enter into a university most students are required to take so many credits in english, math, social sciences, etc. regardless of a major. So basically to answer your initial question- yes, take college credit courses in high school, it will benefit you later on. You don’t need to take all the classes offered for college credit while in high school, but every bit helps. Good luck!

I have amazing grades but i have no idea where to get my college scholarships. Does anyone know a good website or actual scholarships that I could apply for and receive?
there are endless amounts of scholarships out there. Some good websites are schoolsoup.com, scholarships.com, fastweb.com, petersons.com, and of course a good old google or yahoo search.
Many colleges have scholarship information and resources on their financial aid websites. so I would suggest looking around at the websites of different schools (including the one you are interested in) and see what they give for scholarships.
You should also contact the financial aid office of the college and find out what kind of information they have on scholarships. Some schools will have different information that isn’t always on their website. The financial aid office is always a valuable resource. Just keeping asking questions and you will have endless opportunities.
Good luck!

I’m thinking about becoming a chemical engineer, but there are some college courses that I don’t want to take, for example history. Also, are they hard?
You’ll have to take a certain amount of humanities at any decent university. That will include some history, English, arts, etc. It’s called being well-rounded. You might as well try to enjoy it.
Of course you’ll take plenty of math, up through multivariable calculus and differential equations at least. And you’ll have probably 3 semesters of chemistry.
Your first year, in many programs, you just take "basic engineering" courses that all engineering majors take. Then at the end of your first year you apply to individual departments.
Good luck.

I am an 18 year old male currently living in Florida. I am looking for the best deal on college tuition. I am willing to pay more in order to recieve a better education, but there is a cap of what I am willing to pay. Can anyone shed some light on my situation.
Don’t be afraid of out-of-state tuition because after financial aid has been accounted for, you’d be amazed at how much the price can be reduced.
My financial aid package at my top choice college brought the tuition from almost $41,000 (room and board included) down to only about $13,000 and all I did was file the FAFSA. So don’t be afraid of the sticker price you see at first (because as long as you fill out the FAFSA, it’ll become a good price that’s manageable).

Fall 09 im going to get my GED and I want to pusue becoming a psychiatrist. But im confused about what bachelor’s degree I need. Should I get a bachelor’s degree in psychology? And also should I take college credit courses before going for my bachelor’s degree, such as: (since I did not finish high school)
pre-calculus
anatomy and physiology
psychology
biology
chemistry
Or is that not really needed?
Any answers would help, thanks.
A psychiatrist is a physician (MD), you will need to get into medical school (pre-med in college). With a GED, you had better have a very high GPA in college. Entrance to medical school is highly competitive.
A psychologist needs a PhD, and to get into a good program, you will also need to be an exceptional student. Although there are PhD programs of lesser quality, but you will still have to pass state license exams to practice.

im not looking to get into any selective college. i live near clevleand, and im thinking like akron, cincinatti, or kent state. cumulative gpa is like 2.6 right now, (3.4 junior year). Im in one AP class this year, and one or 2 next year. I’ll proabaly get pretty good SAT and ACT scores(like 26 ACT and 1220 SAT reading/math). how much of a difference will it make in colleges admissions if i take 1 compered to 2 AP classes next year?
just out of curiosity, what aobut more selective colleges? would i even have a chance at like ohio state
It seriously will not make a lot of difference. From researching myself various colleges last year, colleges really look at the grades from AP classes rather than AP score or number of AP’s. Of course, the more the better, but during Senior Year it will not make a lot of difference. As long as you have the same or more you will be fine that is all they look for is "the quality of the senior program," which includes taking one more AP than last time. I am not entirely sure about Ohio State right now, but you have a big chance as long as you keep up your GPA because that is really the determining factor in your college, especially large states schools such as Ohio. Additionally, taking more AP classes prepares you the most for college lever material–no matter which college you attend.

During the Republican debate,it was mentioned that Huckabee sponsored a law that would of gave illegal aliens free college tuition (paid by taxpayers)and he voted to ban tuition aid to our own veterans!…..This has to be the worst candidate if true.
Yes and people with views like him are destroying this country. They will keep coming having babies and we will continue to pay for health care and welfare and then tuition if he gets his way. Your right he is one of the worst candidates.
