I’m thinking about becoming a chemical engineer, but there are some college courses that I don’t want to take, for example history. Also, are they hard?
You’ll have to take a certain amount of humanities at any decent university. That will include some history, English, arts, etc. It’s called being well-rounded. You might as well try to enjoy it.
Of course you’ll take plenty of math, up through multivariable calculus and differential equations at least. And you’ll have probably 3 semesters of chemistry.
Your first year, in many programs, you just take "basic engineering" courses that all engineering majors take. Then at the end of your first year you apply to individual departments.
Good luck.
