What I mean is you have to know what to do with certain numbers once you get them…

Certain things get added together and certain things don’t. On an income statement you have to know what is considered a current asset, (cash and accounts receivable) and other things.

You also gotta know a lot of formulas for all the numbers you find. Like how do you find the company’s profit margin? By dividing its net income by its net sales. But first you gotta figure out what the net income is.

In order to be a liscensed accountant, you have to pass the CPA exam, (Certified Public Accountant)..After that, there are many different fields of work. Most accountants do people’s taxes, others work for businesses etc.

Accounting is all about the numbers. You have to know how much is earned and spent and what adjustments are required for each category. You have to know what is considered and asset, liability and equity. There’s a lot to it, and it’s not an easy major. But it can be done.

hey ratnick. i am thinking about majoring in accounting. I myself am not the smartest guy out there.. But i have a heart to make a good living… What exactly does a CPA accountant do?? my social skills are decent but not good. And im pretty good with the basic maths like algebra and such.. explain to me how accounting is like.. thanks
